State transport and private buses run across Saurashtra and through to Ahmedabad. Autorickshaws are the usual way to move around town, and most of the central sights are close enough to walk between. Jamnagar Airport is a short drive from the city centre and takes daily domestic flights.

Best Time to Visit

October to March is the best window, with mild weather for walking and clear light for photographs. Mornings and early evenings are the calmer hours. Festival days draw far bigger crowds, which is worth planning around either way.
